DESCRIPTION OF THE SPANISH FOR FOREIGNERS PROGRAM OF THE APPLIED LINGUISTICS DEPARTMENT

This program is offered by PUCMM in Santiago , Dominican Republic . The objective of the program is to enable foreign students to master their oral comprehension and writing abilities in Spanish. Students can also obtain or broaden their knowledge of Dominican, Caribbean and Latin-American cultures.

The program also includes health and community services.

There are some alternatives regarding duration; however, the most common option is the one that covers a whole semester.

To develop and strengthen the program, the University maintains exchange and collaboration agreements with various American universities and university consortiums.

PUCMM also presents independent students the possibility to take language, literature and social science courses during regular semesters. Independent students enter PUCMM by themselves, in other words, they are not part of a special exchange program. They are registered as special students.

Students enrolled in the Spanish for Foreigners Program have the opportunity to share/live with Dominican families during their stay in the Dominican Republic .

The student will receive a copy of his/her registration and the amount of his/her tuition bill.
